I recently watched a TED talk about finding work you love to do. If you’re like me, you’ve struggled with answering the “what do you want to be when you grow up?” question that gets asked at all of the family gatherings and in schools across the globe.

The logic behind the question is sound, but there’s so many possibilities about what we could do that I believe we get overwhelmed thinking about it. You could literally be and do ANYTHING.

Scott Dinsmore, in the TED talk How To Find Work You Love, poses basically the same question but from a different angle:

What is the work you can’t not do?”

By asking this question, we can evaluate our lives and see what already interests us; we can see what we gravitate towards. Combine those interests with your unique skills and abilities, and you are sure to find or create work that you truly love.

Ponder on this question today — the world needs more individuals who absolutely love the work they do!
